Welcome to Some Day Is Now International
Welcome to Some Day Is Now International. We are a registered Canadian charity, with our head office located in Vancouver, Canada. Our field office and area of focus is Yambio, the capital of Western Equatoria, in South Sudan.
We work with women and girls in South Sudan to improve their quality of life. Our programs focus on education, maternal health care, gender issues and vulnerable children.
The uniqueness of Some Day Is Now International lies in the fact that we go into communities where there is little or no humanitarian assistance. There are still many, many communities in Western Equatoria that receive little or no services. We want to reach those who are isolated and suffering because of poor road conditions, lack of medical facilities, lack of communication, no infrastructure and inadequate amenities.
Although we are a small NGO, what we lack in size, we make up for in heart. We will not implement projects until thorough needs assessments are carried out and the local community is consulted and they have an active role in input and carrying out the projects. All of our projects must be sustainable and build capacity. We want to contribute to true development, not band aid solutions.True development takes time and perseverance and commitment. We want to help communities in Yambio and the surrounding areas improve their lives with development projects they feel will make the most impact.
